I was confused why every video I watched had the hopper in a minecart but now it makes sense.

Could you explain how the sorting systems work? I see some people putting a maximal of 22 items in the hoppers and any item that adds to that will then get sent. Is there a reason for that ?

The one mechanic I never quite understood is hopper overflow. If you place a bunch of hoppers vertically connected to chests on their side, the items will flow down the hoppers to the lowest chest until that chest is full then move to the next chest up. I never quite understood why it worked that way.

Hi I did an horizzontal pipe of hoppers in a ring with 3 corners. I transfert items in it and at one point I lock it so items get drained from hoppers under. But, in corners if I place hoppers pointing in the hopposite directio hopper get jumped, if they point down they do not get jumped...ther is somthin I do not know in the way they work as priority?

I feel like I"m stupid but i truly dont understand the point of hoppers even after watching this... what are they like... ACTUALLY doing differently than just... putting something in there like you normally can😭

Can we speed up the unloading of the hoppers in the item sorter?? Imagine that i have a gold farm and it produces a tone of loot, now the thing is i added a smelter so that i can get a nuget return from the swords, the problem is that the farm keeps clogging and its sending the wrong things into the smelter making the smelter stop, is there anything i can do to speed up the item sorter???

How do i prevent a hopper from splitting resources evenly between the side and bottom, and have it act as an overflow gate?

You asked what you might have missed, you never included the different locked states of hoppers and when an item will be pulled even if the hopper is locked or not.

2:10 I noticed that the hoppers are pointing north they will move items faster using both hoppers, if placed pointing south only the below hopper will move the items....is this directional?

I can't figure out how to make the hoppers funnel in different directions, any time I place one it just poi ts down

How do you attach hopper to the chest. I just open the chest when I am trying to put the hopper down.
