Why Kanan Jarrus Split His Lightsaber Into Two Parts - Star Wars Rebels Explained #Shorts

Depa Billaba's sacrifice was the only reason Padawan Caleb Dume survived Order 66. The smuggler Janus Kasmir took him in, teaching him how to survive as a fugitive from the Empire. Abandoning the ways of the Jedi, he traded his lightsaber for a blaster. In order to evade the Galactic Empire, he changed his name to Kanan Jarrus and continuously hopped from planet to planet. Drinking away his problems, he collected spare lightsaber parts, which he used to modify his lightsaber to separate into two unidentifiable pieces. This allowed him to carry the Jedi weapon without being identified as an enemy of the Empire.

One of my favourite star wars arcs ever. The kid must have been traumatised. It took him long enough, but he became the Jedi Knight his master would have respected.

It’s kinda ironic how in order to become a knight you must construct your own saber and he first threw his saber away and then realized he couldn’t escape his past and constructed a new one to fulfill his journey and then became knighted by the ghost of the grand inquisitor and became literally one of the most legendary Jedi after order 66

I love the concept of a lightsaber that can't be activated until both halves are connected. Hope we see another Jedi with a similar construction in the future.

And also the Bad Batch. They didn't try to kill him, excluding Crosshair. Hunter also misled them by saying he fell, because of that, the other clones didn't chase after him, thinking he had died.

I like how one half of the lightsaber is literally just 90% of the entire hilt but nobody figured out it was a lightsaber until he screws the cap on top and turns it on 😂
