Why show Lupin about the dress code? If Dumbledore didn’t have a problem with Lupins less than stellar attire (in the books and films) he would’ve said something to him. Besides if you actually knew Harry Potter, it’s hard for Lupin to find a job because of his affliction of being a werewolf given to him by Greyback. Also did you ever think McGonagall gave Harry the Nimbus 2000 purely because she knew Harry hadn’t received any gifts in his life at the time and she knew he wouldn’t brag about having one to people or tell everyone in the school it was a gift it being the best broom anyone in the school had. When he recieved is in the book it says “Do not open this at your house table, it is your new racing broom.” And he didn’t open it at the table in the book. Also the rule about the Forbidden Forest is that students can’t go in there ALONE, if they’re with a teacher or staff member they can go in there.

To be fair, Snape was filling in for Lupin because he was the next most qualified staff member to do so. However, skipping ahead in the curriculum was definitely breaking the rules.
