Flashing ESP8266 AT+Arduino - Linux

I dare say that this is the ultimate tutorial on how to flash the ESP8266 module on linux.

I am showing how to flash it into AT mode with esptool and how to flash it using the Arduino IDE V1.6.5. (June 2016)
