There are a variety of development environments that can be used to program the ESP8266. The ESP8266 community created an add-on for the Arduino IDE that allows you to program the ESP8266 using the Arduino IDE and its programming language.

This videos shows how to install the ESP8266 board add-on in any operating system: Windows PC, Mac OS X, or Linux computer.

unfortunately the video does not help me, because in the new Arduino version 2.3.0 this tab is no longer available, or if I install it in the old version, the Libyrarys do not work either ("ESP8266WiFi", "WiFiClient", "ESP8266WebServer"). Although I have inserted the links in the old version, the libraries are not recognized.

I tried this and this is what I got..
Arduino: 1.8.15 (Windows 10), Board: "NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module), 80 MHz, Flash, Disabled (new aborts on oom), Disabled, All SSL ciphers (most compatible), 32KB cache + 32KB IRAM (balanced), Use pgm_read macros for IRAM/PROGMEM, 4MB (FS:2MB OTA:~1019KB), 2, v2 Lower Memory, Disabled, None, Only Sketch, 115200"

fork/exec %1 is not a valid Win32 application.

Error compiling for board NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module).

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

when I add the URL in the preferences and then goto Board manager, I am not able to see ESP. Also if I type ESP 8266 in search, install button is also not there.
