Impreza Intermittent Vibration Noise Diagnosis - How To

This Impreza has the complaint of a bearing type sound or noise. After driving it on the highway more than once I was finally able to reproduce to problem. The vibration was a lot more severe than described. I've found a problem to address before digging in deeper.

Man, I had an '02 WRX that I waited to get and bought brand new. I worked my butt off everyday as a 20yo to make payments and once it was paid off I got this vibration. I took it to two different dealers three different times and no one could figure it out. None of the guys I raced with or the rally guys knew what was up. Me and that car were best friends. A lot of rallycross and general fun. Many miles and nights camping in the front seat lol. I always kept up on the maintenance but a friend at the time convinced me to get a 350Z and get rid of my boy. I always felt bad that I got rid of them and didn't try harder. I would think about it a few times a year and be angry that I didn't try harder but instead I just let go of my dream. I know it sounds weird, but that car had a soul. Some people have a dog, but I had Scoob. Anyway, thanks for posting this video. I did recently purchase an '02 now that I am older and can love one again, but this video gives me some closure. I hope that bugeye found a good home with someone who could take better care of it than I could.

This is the best analysis of an automotive problem I’ve seen in a long time. I have the exact same symptoms in my subaru and have been trying to figure out where the heck the vibration is coming from. The hardest issues to diagnose are intermittent ones. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Hit a puddle at 50mph offside wheel hit the hardest, car started to rev slightly high for 30 seconds after then disappeared. A few days later I started with this issue. I have checked everything but the propshaft, I will be doing this tomorrow. Not watched the follow up video yet but I plan to straight after this video!

Thanks for the video..Was Experiencing same symptom in 2014 XV crosstrek. Thought the tire was going to fall off!
Found a bad caliper front right. Changed them out..vibration gone!!

Thanks guy . My 2015 Forester is doing the exact same thing . It is really goofy . I can drive for a few hours & the vibration will start . I tap on the brakes or pull over & it seems to disappear .... I can't determine which one is the problem as I haven't felt the heat difference . I will further investigate this .. Thx so much .

The weird intermittent sound is your accent. It’s ALMOST normal sounding and then... Oot and aboot

I wonder if one of the axles is causing that because of how it was bad at speed then he turned around and it was horrible then faded away. I imagine if the axle starts throwin its weight right it can shake in harmony with the car.

I just put 2 used rims with tires from the junkyard on my 02 Impreza Outback, but now it shakes, and clicks hard every rotation, I’m so lost, i don’t know what to do, my wheels were loose in the front but i toured it down, was ok for a few miles but now does it all the time, please help!!

I have a 16 wrx limited. Is it normal to have a slight vibration/buzzing feeling on the clutch peddle when I press down on the clutch?

hi I have subaru impreza 2010 at the road when I'm driving the driver side wheel shakes and vibrant hard after acceleration it goes if I push gas or break I checked the tie rod and ball joint they good no bearing noice what it could be pleas 🙏

I have a 2013 Outback and it just starting this intermittent clicking noise that is coming from under the car, in the center. It occurs whether the car is on or off. At first I thought it was coming from the center console. It also sounded like it was under the front passenger seat.(When I was inside the car) It occurs about every 15 seconds. When I went outside the car I could hear it and it did sound like it was coming from the center of the under carriage. It's been going on for hours now. I'm not having trouble starting the car. Any ideas? Thank you for your help.
