see i’m the gay cousin. but my sister might be too. and my brother.

my sister (S) accidentally came out before i did. she didn’t know what coming out was, and it was the cutest thing ever. my other sister (M) was teasing her about her crush. and S just said “oh i don’t like him anymore, but there’s this really cute girl in my class i think i like.” it was so sweet. M got all weird about it, and i told S not to tell our mom. she did, because she didn’t see anything wrong about it (and there isn’t, but i live in a fairly conservative home). she hasn’t talked about liking any girls since then, but she also still sees absolutely no problem with me dating girls.

my little brother (i) is absolutely incredible. i understand that gender expression is completely different from gender identity and sexuality, but he is the cutest thing ever. he loves makeup, and we have nail painting parties all the time. he also used to tell me when he wanted to be called cute, handsome, or pretty. i explained that cute was typically used for boys, pretty was typically for girls, and cute was the inbetween. he told me sometimes he feels pretty like girls do, and sometimes he feels handsome like boys do (he’s fairly young, so this was the easiest was to explain it to him). i came out as trans to my sister, M, a few years ago, and her only problem with it was that’s he didn’t like the name i picked 😭. i ended up shaving my head, because my hair felt too feminine. my parents kept telling me i was pretty, but my brother could tell i didn’t like that, and remembered that i feel handsome, and refused to call me pretty. he called me cute in front of my parents, because they didn’t like me being called handsome.

he still does this quite frequently, but he’s stopped calling himself pretty after some negative reactions from our conservative family.

If I went there. I would be like "owh shit". Because same. But all my family is Homophobic except one. Another gay/ally cousin. We talked in "code" in front of our parents to know that we were both fruity. I mean, she looks like a twin to me w similar interests. So we would be the gay cousin duo in a whole Homophobic religious family 😭💀
