I brought my wife and baby daughter home from the hospital in a Volvo, my daughter brought her baby daughter home from the hospital in a Volvo. I can relate to this Ad. Jaguar, not at all.

This commercial pulls my heart strings. My Husband and I drove pre-owned Volvos while raising our daughters because of their safety record. We bought both of our daughters vintage "bricks" for their first cars because we knew they were safer than anything else we could provide. Over the 30+ years we all drove Volvos, the four of us were in my 745 when it was broad-sided by another car traveling at least 30 MPH and we all walked away with no major injuries; our youngest daughter's Volvo 240 was run into on the passenger side by a man running a red light that spun her car through an intersection, and she had no injury; and my husband was rear-ended by a 3/4 ton truck going ~50mph while driving home from work one evening, and my dear hubby was not injured. The Volvos took the hit and absorbed the impact for us every time. Sadly, two of those Volvos were damaged beyond repair, and my 745 wagon required a lot of work to get back on the road. My husband, our daughters, and I know that those 2 and 4-door "bricks" and my "little red wagon" saved us from severe injury, or worse, when put to the test.
If Volvo offered a model that could pull a loaded 16ft horse trailer, I would still be driving one today. ❤
Jaguar has lost touch with reality - if they ever had it. Driving is enjoyable, but it is also a serious responsibility. The roads are even more dangerous now with so many foreign drivers everywhere with little to no familiarity of hiw to drive safely in America. Driving is not a game or a fashion statement. To present it that way is irresponsible and absurd. Volvos are still grounded in reality and safe as ever!
