Does Steve Ramsey make the best crates? They’re awesome, but let’s see if we can make them better and faster! This video is a step by step build of a simple crate. In this video, I walk you through all the cuts you need and every step needed to make great looking and strong crates quickly. Those turned out nice and strong! I really like the way you made the handle without the jigsaw.

Thank you for this video. I am going to build several of these to store my wife's canning jars! I think I will build ours to hold 18 jars. The crate will be wider that way for stability to stack up. I am going to use 7/16 OSB and 1/2 plywood siding on the bottoms. Because I have a ton of scrap just laying around in my way. The round edge cut off from the 2x4 I will use as cleats on the underside to stop them siding around when stacked.
Good way to use up all the scraps in my way constantly. Better way of storing empty jars than cardboard boxes that are constantly falling apart. I love the handle and router idea as well. Again, thank you for the light bulb idea!

Another great video as always! About to go make this out of scrap laying around for my kitchen renovation. Love these types of videos. I can see 1M subscribers in your near future.

Your crates are nice. But are they faster and a bit easier to build than Steve's? Yes. But are they stronger? Gonna have to say "No".

This is an excellent video. First, the project and explanation are simple and thorough, well thought out. Second, you gave a perfect tease for the next video and tht's got me clicking on your page link!

If you coat them with vinegar it ages them, the smell of the vinegar disappears after a couple of days. I have used this method for so many items I have made.

As someone who doesn't hear as well as I used to, is there anyway to mute the music when you're talking? Hard to tell some things you were saying.

What are the size/length of the bras nails?

Anyone have any idea roughly how much weight these can hold? I'm desperately looking for something just like this that will be able to carry about 50lbs worth of material

You put 2x6 in your description but looks like you used a 1x size in the video?

I dont even know if you're going to read this comment, given how old the video is BUT

I'm trying to get started woodworking and making a simple project like this would be ideal. (What I'd do with these boxes once they were made is beyond me)

I do really HATE projects when people say "You don't have to measure [the gap between the side slats], just eyeball it." I'm Autistic and, with that, I have ZERO concept of distances, so just 'eyeballing" anything fills me with dread. Makes me not bother wanting to start. (It was a great project to tackle because I don't own ANY clamps, and I never saw a clamp in sight in your video.)

Mind you, so do any measurements that aren't metric, to be fair.
