So glad l've finally found an Aussie solo girl in a car similar to mine. I have a HRV. The seats are fantastic and fold flat so no need to take any out but l love yr tips and how you set yr car up. I can fit a portaloo in mine (essential at my age) and you found the perfect spots to camp exactly how l imagined it. My mum and brother died in December and after all the dust has settled, and l can think straight l'm outta here to chill on the road! Thanks so much for the inspiration 😊

You should show your videos to Hyundai Australia, they could sponsor your trip.

I bought a Rav4 years ago to travel around Australia, still didn’t leave my town. I really admire what you’re doing!

I’m loving these videos and the fact that you just made it work with what you had and are out there doing it while so many people are saving for a giant 4wd they can’t afford and a hundred accessories they’ll never use 😁

I watched your climbing Mt Cooroora one on my way to climb it myself and now am a little hooked and about to binge watch your adventures 🙂

Bravo Laura!
I find your confident, articulate manner, combined
with your gorgeous smile and looks, impressive to say the least.
Years from now, when you are my age (60) you will have such
great memories of your adventures to reflect on.
However, lets not get ahead of ourselves, for I feel
your adventures have only just begun!
Enjoy our great country and the bright and unique future you have.
Kudos to your dad, some of us old blokes are handy indeed.

I have a VZ wagon and the bed will be just higher than my 164cm frame, from the top of the back seat layed down is 184cm so I have length space 😊 I'm currently decking it out

It's a great little car to go touring in! I've covered a great chunk of the country in mine - not much in car camping, but tents etc, and will be hitting 500, 000km sometime this year!
Love the video :)

You are such a great inspiration, I read about your solo travel trip in news article I was flipping thru on flipboard and I was so inspired and search your name in google. And it landed me to your channel which I did not expected as it was not mentioned in the news article.
I am 45 yr from India and I feel you are living your life to the fullest at such an young age. You are brave, intelligent and lovely soul and you are inspiring many people. I have seen all of your videos and can't stop talking about you whom ever I meet at work or home. Thank you dear!

Well done Laura, great presentation. I think you are very brave but admire you for having the courage to take off and travel while your re so young, childless and carefree. Stay safe and enjoy every minute of your journey!

Your Dad did a great job, clever design and love the simplicity plus versatility of the set up. On version 4 of my 4x4 set up and have done something similar being able to sleep in the vehicle, loving it. Thanks for the run down and enjoy your travels….👍

2 wheel drive vehicles are very underrated. We all used them on the farms back in the day and I even own a 2 wheel drive Isuzu today. As for 4 wheel drives...been there and done it and about 90 % of the time they are not necessary unless you are doing deliberate off 4 wheel driving.

I car camped in my 2016 i30 hatch from April 2020-April 2023. My girl was an awesome little car but I needed to upgrade so I can go more remote. Now have a 2019 Nissan Xtrail and love her to bits!!

Thank you for this. I'm about to road trip over the year in Australia. I have a Rav 4 which there are many amazing tutorials on for fitting out. But I really wanted to see what I could do with storage to the side of my bed area rather than all of it underneath

Great tips and advice!. Interestingly, I set up my 1986 Suzuki GTi Swift similar to you to solo travel the NT Gulf 12 times (including Lawn Hill in 1999) but carried a lot more stuff (in a MUCH smaller space) as I had a small sit-in kayak, heaps of fishing gear, car spares, recovery gear, tools etc and was heading to areas foreign to FWD 1.3l hatchbacks! Basic bush mechanical knowledge is a help, especially when things like your fuel tank decides to nearly rip from the floor on shocking corrugations in the middle of nowhere. I feel you should add a small yak on your racks to add to your adventure and give you more mobility plus access to free food like fish. Oh, I found the 10l collapsible water bladders perfect as as they get used you can pack them away to save space. Still got the Zook as my daily but it hasn't done the bush thing for a few years now.
