Just turn off the interior lights switch not to drain the battery when rear hatch is open for extended periods of time. If the switch doesn't work or some such ... the carabiner is a fantastic idea.

I love your minimalist setups even though I am not a glamper or into decorating. Your ideas are the simple solutions I need for fast and efficient, even a comfortable camping experience. I also have never eaten Korean food and love seeing how you prepare your delicious looking meals. Gotta try that!! I will be 75 this year and just bought a Suburu Outback. Fantastic tips thank you, i have been looking at a way round my interior lights staying on, I can turn off all except the safety door lights on the 2 front doors, so I will most definitely be trying the carabiner in the boot latch :)
