Looking into the dodo bird it doesnt make sense what they were and why unless of course you apply modern agricultural selective breeding knowledge, then it makes perfect sense what are they, they are a massive chicken like creature bread for consumption just like any other modern farm raised animals, it would also make more sense why they were so "stupid".
