Olorgesailie, in southern Kenya, offers a glimpse into the lives of Homo erectus around 1 million to 300,000 years ago. This site is rich in Acheulean tools and fossilized remains of Theropithecus oswaldi, a giant baboon. Evidence suggests that Homo erectus used these tools to hunt the baboons, likely employing cooperative strategies to ambush their prey. The site highlights the technological and social skills of Homo erectus in adapting to their environment.

I work in the environmental industry in the US, and though I consider myself someone who cares deeply for the environment, I do not think it is mutually exclusive with hunting. I have grown to love hunting and doing it all the time makes me feel connected to ancient people. When I shot my first deer and stared up at the stars while catching my breath, I really felt connected to a million years of human shared experience and sort of "Got it" if that makes sense. Love the channel. I write historical fantasy novels on ancient world stuff but I think you would really befit from trying to do the same with the knowledge that you have of prehistoric peoples. You always have such cool ideas in your videos.
