Thanks a bunch for the explanation. Very helpful. I have a mechanical pump on my early '60's fomoco. I'm wondering if I need to use two gaskets rather than one for the pump on the block.

I know lots of smaller channels are sometimes good at replying but can vapor come out of the carb if its vapor locking

It is my understanding that the electric fuel pump should be mounted as close to the fuel tank as possible.
