Barbers been increasing their prices every year since after the pandemic. I left my barber and now cut my own hair for free.

Moms bought me a pair of clippers when i was 13.. back when the Jerry Curl ended its reign in the hood... Never spent a dime on a haircut and learned a new skill.

Back in the early 2000’s you could get your haircut by virtually anyone on the east coast in 15-20 minutes and you’d be looking absolutely fresh for only 8 bucks. That’s 32 an hour plus tips for a barber- wages that are still good in today’s age. Nowadays, they want to charge 50 dollars a head minimum. These dudes out here thinking they’re artists.

It’s like the price went up, and the skill went down🤦🏽‍♂️ I remember when barbers was really barbers(cuttin they friends hair in school and followed the passion), and not just niggas tryna get it however they can just because they seen it workout for another nigga.

Real talk I bought one after seeing this and it def works for me. I am black but I don't have issues with razor bumps. But that explains why my pop never told me to get one. He has issues with razor bumps.

If i could give advice to anyone whos about to start cutting their own hair, I'd say to just be patient with yourself. You will get better with practice as any other task in life. Its not that complicated. Common sense is all it takes. And secondly if you mess up a little, trust me when i tell you that most will not even notice it. You notice much easier yourself because you know where the mistake is. And if you mess up severely, you can alway just shave your head. Hair grows back. I started cutting my own hair in 2006. Started with a basic number 1 all over with shape up, then about 1 year in, I tried my first fade. It was a little rough here and there, but not long after I figured it out.

I use moisturizer on my top and bottom eyelids and from that my eyelashes have thickened out double in size and evenness. The oil or aloe has nutrients that help hairs not fall out, which is why your eyelashes look so weak. If you got weak eyelashes it takes 2 seconds to use a dot of moisturizer around your eyelids. And you'll see the difference within a month.

My hair is like wire. Metal wires. Those feather cutters can't do nothing to my face. I need adamantium straight razors.

I couldn’t believe what barbers are charging these days. Men cut your own hair. You’ll mess up the first two cuts, but after that you’ll be like damn I should have been doing this years ago. Less than $100 investment, I’m old school so I like Andis Master Clippers and T-Outliners. Young guys are using Babyliss products which are equally good or better says some barbers. 👍🏿🙏🏿

I received one of those fancy Norelco electric razors with the three round floating blades as a present. I found out almost immediately that electric razors did nothing but irritate my skin and caused razor bumps. Moved immediately to shaving with lather and razors. I can grow a full beard, or I can shave my face and head completely clean with no razor bumps. But even watching an electric razor makes me itch.
