Bitwig Studio 5.1 welcomes 10 new characters. Four filters and six waveshapers with 10 new sonic personalities, plus a new oscillator, two pre-patched audio FX containers, and improvements to the mixer, audio editing, and voice stacking.

Thanks for this update. It’s nice to have more sound design options. However there you guys from Bitwig should be more focused on community requests.
Base on comments a little list.

- MIDI comping
- Capture listening MIDI (like Ableton)
- Video suport
- Scale highlight or scale lock, chords etc….
- Improve automations and midi editor
- Allowing MIDI exports that don't have the entire project in them (e.g. a single clip)
- Skin editor, dark mode for arrangement etc..
- Correct handling of sustain and other pedals in clips (apparently that one is on the road map, I asked).
- Being able to export in different tracks each pad/instruments of the Drum Machine device
- A good and simple freeze function
- VariAudio type of editor


I know that you guys from Bitwig are passionate about what you do. But you need to start looking more at what the community is asking for.

When will you address the automation interpolation?! Having these extremely long fade-ins on hard-cut gain automations is driving me CRAZY!!

Amazing!! But I will continually make noise about the most BASIC core features that need love and attention. Automation UX, Interface UX, GPU rendering & UI performance, Navigation, UX of many devices (specifically limiter), shortcuts not working globally. Comon guys!! This is the basic stuff that makes a DAW like Reaper, or Studio One a dream to use. Bitwig still feels very very clunky at times.

I love Bitwig so much, but...!

First of all - we need ready tools for creating music, not anyone wants to spend a time with grid by trying to build plugin that we could use in one simple view like in other DAWs or just 3rd party plugins.

What i am waiting in next versions of Bitwig.

- Vintage compressor(maybe different emulations)
- mix knob for old compressor and dynamic plugin
- multiband compressor (ott maybe)
- dynamic EQ with sc
- multiband distortion with different types of distortion at any band
- Reverb + (with really good sound)
- Shimmer reverb of shimmer mode for Reverb +
- supermassive reverb like black hole of mode for Reverb+
- build-in unison for PHASE 4
- dark grey arranger view(main space with audio and midi clips)
- reworked NEW browser
- bunch of EDM ready fat kick and snares sound library
- second oscillator for polymer and build-in unison
- FM4 + (unison, ability to draw waveforms)
- Granular synthesizer
- pattern sequencer mode for key editor
- FM oscillator for grid(polymer) that contains 4 operators in one module
- fm modulation for Polysynth
- NEW vintage synth with fat sound

Ableton Live 12 so soon, Bitwig still haven't touch up their piano roll, plus no scale highlight or scale lock feature. Love Bitwig, but I can't switch up yet.

Dear Bitwig, I do absolutely love this, however I do hope that some point in the future we can see some more features that are currently missing that many DAWs have. Not that you need to be like every other DAW, I like that your approach is different, but I think that there are somethings that could be added that make it more complete and useful to almost everyone. There are many suggestions that are good that I have seen, but just to name one, I do really miss the ability from other DAWs to correct vocals in a easy and intuitive manner. In Bitwig, it is not easy or intuitive to do so. Having to use a digital tuner, or eq to determine fundemental, or bruteforce with you ears to determine the pitch is cumbersome, not fun, and generally a pain in the ass. Maybe I should just stfu and "get good" and develop perfect pitch and stop complaining, or maybe, possibly it might be useful to many many others who use it daily, but put off truly adopting Bitwig because they find that particular workflow very hard to do. I know Pitch Correction is not an easy thing. I know making a DAW, and one as unique as yours, is a hard endeavor, I realize there are other third-party software which can do this, but for most of us, it's a lot of money for us to drop $700 on a vocal correction tool. Maybe that price is justified, I do not know. I like that you can with some effort do a lot of the things a third party vst can do in Bitwig, I like that and find that very compelling, that is why I bought it. I'm not asking you in hopes of forming something that out competes everyone at everything leaving nothing, but Bitwig, I just hope that some day I don't have to load up an entirely different DAW just to do vocals. I am not saying that I don't want other DAWs, or other third party VSTS, I just at times would like to be able to do the complete workflow of producing a song contiguously in the same environment without a lot of frustration. Anyways, thanks for listening. I could also, be completely wrong. who knows.

Nice update, i'm still waiting the option to modulate the random or dice button from the steps modulator and the grid's, that will definetely improve my sonic possibilities by maping it to a controller button and changing values on the fly, saving presets without loosing data. Maybe they have it in their to do list, who knows.

DAY 375 of asking for simple scrub feature in the piano roll. A feature that takes 30 seconds to code to just preview notes that intersects with a vertical line that follows the horizontal cursor movement.

Please add scrub feature... Every DAW has it and it's hard for new users to adapt, especially people who play by ear.
