I have been doing facial exercises 6 years ago when I was 41 as a preventative. I am 49 and look 30!
Of course this doctor doesn't want people to do facial exercises because then she wont be able to make bags of money shooting women up with facial fillers and the like and keep them coming back when the effect wears off.

I've been doing facial exercises for few months now and they work! The web of muscles on the face is much more subtle, fine tuned and complex than a bicep or whatever, so you have to know how to exercise it right. When you do it right, it will give more youthful, elegant, powerful and lasting results than any surgery, filler or botox can ever give. The information is out there, don't believe money-makers or misinformed people like this young woman in this video :) Couple of days ago I downloaded "Ageless if you dare" face exercise book and DVD, and this very issue is well explained in the book. Frankly, what this woman is saying, is most untrue. Facial exercise is proven to work and it is dirt-cheap, so no wonder beauty-industry people are putting it down systematically, as I see it. Doctors and surgeons ridicule face-workouts. Money talks.

Botox eventually results in muscles' atrophy, which means that inactive muscles become smaller and hence a frequent Botox user's skin will also end up less tight. The above advice is false and I am surprised that is given by a medical professional, as work ethics should not be money-driven.

I don’t think so, Im on my late 20’s but my looks was younger, I get lot of compliments. Do facial exercises it tightens the muscles on our face. it also help the blood flow on our facial area that gives vibrant look on us

It depends on the exercises. She's referring to facial expressions, but a lot of facial exercises are the opposite of expressions.

I'm going to be 49 this June. Is it 2020 already? When I was 44 I had thin lips, slagging neck, dropping jowles, my eye hoods were driving my lashes into my eyes making them itchy (I thought it was allergies), I had fine wrinkles under my eyes down my cheeks as verticle under my right eye and horizontal under my left eye, my eye lids were brown, I had brown skin under my eyes that ran down my check toward my ears. Some days I looked like a raccoon. I had heavy creases across my forehead. HAD. I thought I'd had a small stroke because one side of my face was slagging so bad, I looked for facial exercise therapy to restore the muscles. What I found out was that my sedentary lifestyle after becoming widowed (depression can do that) I wasn't exercising any of my facial muscles. I experimented on my lips and eyes first. I got enormous improvement in 3 days, even lifting my lashes out of my eyes. I worked the muscles to lengthen my neck and found I could sleep so much more comfortably. I stretch and strengthen all my facial and neck muscles regularly now, but after the first 10 days my daughters noticed my face looked slimmer and asked if I lost weight. I told them what I've been up to and they began pointing out all the differences in my forehead, neck, chin, eyes, cheeks; my skin is subtle, the wrinkles are gone, I even have normal skin tone again (I had been looking like flour was on my face, except the brown streaks and raccoon eyes). Your facial muscles aren't biceps, you don't need to be aggressive with them, but if you do make a mistake just back off they will correct. There are two phases, build volume then shape. These two phases continue as needed, you can consider maintenance. Yes moisturizers! But they don't have to be expensive. My skins makes it's own oil again, and sometimes I get a pimple. My tear ducts work better, they were dry. Tear ducts deliver more than tears, there is also an oil and I think one of those of mine is not working. But my eyes are moister. The atrophy was crushing the glands of my skin and tear ducts closed. Elastin is supported by healthy skin and the exercise of subcutaneous muscles certain makes the skin healthy. Transient wrinkles are caused by sleeping. You can support your face with sport tape. I double layer it when creases become a problem, but I don't bother any more. I can just do some light exercise in the morning and pull the creases and wrinkles out. They're really not anything more than what I saw in my 30's in the morning. I laughed at them then, I sigh at them now, then I iron them.
That's what Jimmy Stewart meant when he said "It just takes longer to iron out (his face) now". The secret of facial exercise goes back longer than we understand, and the little bird of knowledge alights on whom it may. Oh, and ice is used to rebuild brown fat under the skin. That fat is sensitive to the environment, retreating in sunlight (heat), but can be rebuilt with applying ice for 1 minute a few times a day. Your muscles build it for insulation, they don't like being cold! It plumps the skin and covers the red color of tissues under the skin that shows up in some photography, or when you exert yourself.

I’d rather listen to an actual a doctor with qualifications than a sponsored youtuber who gets paid to say shit

I have been doing facial exercises for 3 months now & my face is fuller & much more toned (I'm 63 so everything was dropping!!) ..i have not noticed any difference in smile lines at all. I'm working on my under eye hollows at the moment (I thought they were bags (which I do wake up with) & I get rid of them with a few coats Aloe Vera gel which is a skin tightner. But I'm left with under eye hollows which the excises are dealing with...toning up the muscle under the eye. The skin on our face is the only part of the body where the skin is so tightly bound with the muscle so easy to tone up with facial exercises. Unfortunately the skin on our neck is not & that's why it says long before the face does. I f I'd known what I know today (& how depressed I'd be when everything started to drop) I would have deffinely started these exercises in my 40's! Take note u younger lady's..its no joke when u start to look older!! & it has a huge effect on u'r mental health. I know that if I stop it will all drop again..but why on earth would I do That!! It all takes a few minutes tops! I also do a drainage & face massage morning & night which gets collagen going etc & my skin is glowing! Don't forget u'r neck & double chin!!

Facial muscles, like other muscles, can be strengthened and built. Larger face muscles = fuller face

you can’t control smile lines from laughing or smiling and you can’t control frown lines from frowning at something, this is all apart of being human and human nature

Who am I going to believe? My lying eyes that can see the results of the facial exercises I did, or some random person trying to sell injections to women?

Any exercise is good for any part of the body.

It's not necesarly about the wrinkles. Been doing facial exercises for a while my face looked really good and toned but after i stopped i started getting jowls and marrionette lines and I haven't had them before that. Wish I never tried them and I don't want to use facial exercise to correct them as it's a vicious circle. Seems that is working but in time makes you look older... so from my personal experience I have to agree with the doctor.

Maybe She means that there is a difference between face exercises that tone face but make it more tense..and face massage that relax face and lift it without making any tense

I think she is right. I came across some face yoga where she was talking about exercising eye muscles and I did the same just one day and I could see the eye bags under my eyes which were not there before.

I believe she is right. In my mid 30's I sipped my water through a straw to try to prevent drinking my lipstick which happens when you use a cup. Well, some time afterward I got a long slanted crease above my mouth on the exact side I would purse my lips to sip through that straw. And I sipped my water through out the day every day! Never used a straw since.

I disagreed with this . My check is more lifted since I started doing face exercise. You just need to know how to do it properly so one cost winkle.

I am surprised that somebody with the medical background defends BOTOX, which in long term cause muscle atrophy (muscles shrink). She must be payed to say it. (This is Steve's wife comment).
