The Canon R8 📷

Canon is launching 2 new cameras this week, and if I had to guess, both cameras will be a great option for new photographers, or even those looking for a second body. The Canon R8 will be announced later this week, so stay tuned for the official announcement and the full list of camera specs.

Please note: these are just rumors and speculation, and I have no official knowledge about the release of any upcoming cameras!

the issue with IBIS in canon R cameras is the edge wobble at wide angles while turning it off completely disables even the lens IS, and canons lens IS is already pretty good so no ibis aint much of a turnoff

Love these vids, they’ve been insanely helpful! Question: What setup do you have for these talking heads? It looks incredible and sharp! Not a lot of DR, so no real need for log but do you still stick with CLog/3 for these? TIA!

This is a good year for new cameras. Sony is also releasing the A7cii, the A9iii and another camera in March.

I’m skeptical about the price as it shouldn’t be as much as the R7 but somewhere between it and the R10. I have the R7 as my main camera and the R10 as the backup and overhead camera but it’s not ideal because it doesn’t have log. I will exchange it for the R8.

Its not an upgraded R, its a crippled R6 II in a RP case.
Also the price, at least in europe, australia etc. is pretty bad

I’ve been using an R, bought an R5. Thought I’d keep both, BUT I was offered big money for the R and read about the R8.
I shoot street, no video, no sports. Don’t tell me about the R6II.
Should I sell the R and get an R8 as a lightweight spare or for travel buddy?

The R8 is a upgraded for the RP not the R.
