I’ve had my R8 for roughly 2 months now, and this thing is a beast with both RF and EF glass. For photography, it is great for shooting whatever you need. The 40 frames per second with the electronic shutter is amazing for sports, wildlife, and quick moving subjects, with minimal to no rolling shutter. Highly recommend if you’re considering a camera around this price point.

Canon is making great and affordable cameras nowadays, only if there was third-party support for lenses, I would've definitely bought canon.

I'm thinking of buying Canon r8 or Sony alpha 7iv. What do you suggest, and which lens should I have for wedding? My buget is cca 1500$. I was thinking something like a 24-150mm and a 35mm f1.4

I have never seen anywhere on the planet a photo with the Canon R8 at ISO 12, 800 and 25, 600. On the Canon R6 and R6 Mark II, you can find photos at ISOs 12, 800 and 25, 600. This leads me to think that the Canon EOS R8, even though Canon says it has the same sensor as the R6 Mark II, certainly doesn't have the same high ISO quality. And that's what's stopping me from buying the Canon R8 only to find out later that it's the same as my Canon EOS R and I'm left with two cameras with similar ISOs.

Just pick it up as a b camera to my canon r6 I don’t shoot in 4k with my r6 over heats way to fast but the R8 no over heating so far in 4k60

And does the 1080p60 recording have sensor cropping?

Zve1 has 4k 60 and 120. No crop. Dual native iso to 12800. Does this come close?

Putting great autofocus and canon in the same sentence sometimes it’s ever hard. But anyways, I might be wrong.

if I was doing profesionnal gigs but didn't have the money for an R6II, honestly I think I'd go for a Nikon Z5

excellent EVF, double card slots, big battery, full frame sensor, large grips and lots of buttons and dials, rugged and apparently super good firmware update support that gave this camera better lowlight (same as BSI sensors now) and better autofocus along the years.

of course, that'd be if I wouldn't do video or need anything higher than 5fps shooting. (it can do 1080p video reasonably well, but there is a heavy crop in 4K and no Log profiles which kinda sucks)

So, just buy the rp. Same sensor as the 6d mk2. With the same iso problem at 400.
