Fiio FH7 Earphone Review - A big leap forward - Audiophile IEMs

Got 'em for a year now and can't imagine what would be a step up from this. They are great for hip hop, black metal, industrial techno, dark ambient, pop, grindcore...whatever really. It's like I'm at a venue listening to live music. Fantastic stuff and would recommend them over my floor standing towers with a ported sub any day, just adore their sound signature.

Hello. Do I need to use the FH7 with DAPs only or could I use them with my phone directly?

Using an iPod touch 7 with a FiiO q1 Mark 2 dac/amp, utilizing the 2.5mm balanced output of the q1 and sending the music through a FiiO lc-2.5d silver cable with mmcx connects into the Fh7’s gives me outstanding sound with any genre of music I choose. I use the Spinfit cp145 and cp100 tips and sometimes a set of RHA dual density tips that came with their T20 iems.(also great earphones for about 170 bucks). I highly recommend these iems, FiiO did a great job with the fh7’s. A worthy flagship iem!!!

Just want to make sure everyone know that this is a bright IEM.
I advise to try it first before buying or you will throw this away after 3songs if you are sensitive to bright IEMs.
It sounds bigger, fuller and wider than the FH5 but a bit too bright for me.

In 2021 not including swappable cable ends or even in its place an additional cable seems like a poor decision. As IEM prices go, the price for this is entry level with other brands but, it is one of Fiio's flagships or TOTL products and customers will expect some of the extras seen on those more pricy IEMs. This may be a very big purchase for someone and they could end up choosing a competitor's product simply because buying this would mean having to buy an additional cable. I own a number of Fiio products and I enjoy using them regularly, I'd like to see them do well.

I've had two sets of these, and both had faulty cables. The first, the left hand side wasn't a tight fit and would fall out, and on the second pair, it was the right.
