Solid State Drive vs Hard Drive - MacBook Speed Comparison

I compare the speed of boot up using a Samsung 7200 RPM hard drive with that of a Solid State Drive. The SSD is a 256GB Plextor M6S.

Ordered my 256 SSD from Amazon today for my 2009 MacBook that has been running at a crawl. Thank you!!! HOPEFULLY this will bring new life to my machine.

I found out that my Plextor 256GB M6S had firmware 1.01 and 1.03 is the latest.  I went to the Plextor website and they email me the link for 1.03 then burned the iso to a CD-R on my 2009 MacBook and the firmware update went flawlessly!!!!  What a great SSD!

Awesome SSD. installation was simple in my 2009 MacBook and it's noticeably faster!!!

The problem is not that SSD is fast but notebook HDD is slow. 7200rmp desktop HDD would be a lot faster even though slower than SSD. SSD are limited by SATA 3.0 port and would be faster otherwise.

You should add a little bit of soft background music to your videos. Good video though!
