A Null Hypothesis example:
If the air quality index (AQI) is grater than 100, air is unhealthy;
If the AQI is less than equal 100, air is healthy.
An ecologist is trying to show that the air in LA is unhealthy. The null hypothesis defines THE OPPOSITE of what you are trying to show.
