A traditional Russian house in Siberia, 2023. We visited my Aunties house in Kemerovo, Russia to show you how she and many Russian people live. In most cities in Russia the majority of people live in large apartment blocks but some live in their own houses. Living in a house such as this one comes with both benefits as well as, hardships, especially in the winter.

Is this what you expected a typical house in Russia to be like? How does it compare to where you are from?

There are wonderful people in all parts of the world. You don't have to be wealthy to be happy. As a 93 year old poor man, I have traveled the world, virtually, and enjoyed this video. Thanks.

As a Canadian I know it's real cold by the sound their boots make in the snow.

How delightful to see that your aunt has the dear little dog and shy lovely kitty to keep her company. So good that you show her love and respect when you help her. My dear daughter-in- law says "family is everything!" This is so true because you young folks set the example for others to follow. Blessings and good health to you all!

Hi from Canada 🇨🇦. I love this because it reaffirms what I have always believed; we are all the same no matter where we live. Your Auntie is precious and she sure knows how to fire up that oven. Also watching the three of you hop up onto the roof and clear the snow was the best!!!!

I grew up in Alaska in the 1950's and 60's. This is what my childhood looked like - minus the sauna. Cold weather and warm friends! Good to see!

Awe the universal language. The eyes and smiles. They seem pleasantly happy. Awesome

And in the middle of everything, the world's most mysterious and cute little cat (in the end of the video)

Thank you to your Auntie for opening up her home to share with us! Very interesting. I was always curious, as a child, about how one lived in Siberia. It’s 81 F (27C) here in Texas today;)

We, in other parts of the world so appreciate what folks like you do to show us what life is like in places we might not otherwise see. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I live in the sometimes-cold climate of Maine in the USA, and I wish that all those that do nothing but complain about everything, could spend a winter where hardship is the norm. May God bless you all.

This video reminded me to be thankful for the little luxuries that I take for granted here in New York. And I love that you look out for your Auntie. Very Sweet. Thanks for posting this.

This reminds me of my childhood in northern Minnesota. We are all not that different after all. We burned coal and wood to stay warm during 40 below weather. The snow crunched just as crisp As it does for you. I had to shovel as much snow off the roof well into my 60's. It is just a way of life In the long winters. We could Easily be neighbors.

I am Polish and Russian, third generation. My grandma lived in Austria as a child and spoke Russian and Polish. Somehow I did not expect Russia to have so many apartments. Even though your Auntie does not have modern appliances and such, it must be so wonderful in the summer months when she can grow her own food in her big garden. I am from the USA born and raised in Stamford, CT Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for showing all of us what real life is all about in Russia. I gave up watching tv news years ago. It was a real pleasure to see your quaint home life. Looks just like a regular town in America. Again, thank you.

I remember living in Belgium in the 1980's. Working class family. Old rented house. Coal burning stove, toilet in an out-house and no running hot water!
And to be honest, I had a happy childhood!
