Many people asked me how do we survive in Yakutia when our temperature goes down to -71°C (-95°F). How do we even go outside? In this video, my sister Dayaana will show you what we usually wear in Yakutia and give you a tour around the coldest city in the world! Enjoy 🥶

When I was a kid, before the time of the internet I often opened the geography atlas and I was wondering how people live in the far Yakutia. I feel privileged that today I can open Youtube and get a glimpse of how people live there. All my respect goes to the people who live in such difficult conditions with extreme cold. Thank you so much for sharing the video.

This is the kind of fur-wearing I can get behind. I love animals, but wearing a fur coat or boots in life endangering conditions to stay warm is very different from simply wearing a fur coat to a club. Thanks for sharing your culture with us!

I'm in Pakistan, summers here are like 48-50° and it's really amazing to think that even temperature differences are more than a 100°, humanity still thrives all the same. Really just shows our adaptivity as a species, we live from the hottest hot to the freezing cold

Imagine getting ready to go to work, casting a glance at the weather forecast and thinking “Nice that it’s finally getting a bit warmer!” when you see it’s going to be minus 40.

Siberians are something special!

Her sister managed to be beautiful under 5 layers of clothing.
Being a teenager with style is hard in cold places.

I am always amazed by the fact that cities and towns exist in such extreme climates in the first place.

Finding this video is like a blast from the past, when YouTube still functioned properly. This is the content YouTube was made for. A beautiful video. Thank you!

As someone from a tropical country, the coldest temperature I've ever experienced was 11°C. I just can't imagine how negative temperatures feel, let alone -50°C or lower 🥴

Living in South Florida my entire life, I think I would immediately freeze solid no matter how many layers I had on. It's amazing how diverse people are to live in so many extreme environments.

Great video!! It is great to be able to see such a different and underreported part of the world. As a Canadian, I feel your pain about harsh winters even if amazingly, your winters are even worse than ours

When she started talking about glasses, I was sure she'd say that the extreme cold would make the glass crack. But no. It was way more horrible than that.

I live in Northern Michigan and thought that *our* temperatures got unbearably cold. But wow! This is much colder! 🥶 To withstand such conditions on a daily basis is truly amazing! It goes to show just how hardy and adaptable the human race is. Thank you for sharing this piece of your world with us 🖤

It seems the colder the outside weather is the more warm-hearted the people are who live there. Thank you so much for giving us an insight into life in Yakutsk!

I like how the lady who has been selling food at that market for 20 years was just chilling, nose exposed and everything, but the dude whose only been doing that a year was all covered up and looked like he was about to cry lol

Thanks for this educational video. I live in a warm climate, but we have 2 months of cold in Jan/Feb. 30F is freezing to me, I couldn't imagine your climate! Good to see how the community adapts.

Dayanna looks stunning. If there is silver lining to the extreme cold, the clothes appear quite fashionable. Thank you for sharing a snapshot of your wonderful culture.
