“Make no mistake, Russia is isolated.” On Friday, Russia vetoed a draft UN Security Council resolution that would have deplored Moscow's invasion of Ukraine. Here’s what the diplomats said after the vote. #UKRAINEWAR

The idea of the power of veto in a ‘democratic’ meeting of countries in the UN is laughable. There is not democracy if one country can veto the will of a hundred others. Whether it is Russia now, or the US with Palestine, the power of veto in the UN undermines the idea of it being ‘united’ entirely.

America has so much sympathy for Ukraine. But our country did the same thing in Iraq, Libya and so many other countries.

That's what US always did over Gaza Palestine.

When America preaches morality and principles, it gets a bit nauseating.

If only the UN would actually care this much about all the countries that the Americans invaded as well, most people including myself wouldn't consider the organization a joke.

Well this reminds me of How US vetoed at least four UNSC resolutions against Palestinians, not even ready to condemn Israel for its oppression and illegal occupation

It's funny to see the comments of western diplomats who are very pro-Western. last year when Palestine was bombed deliberately for 11 days that killed hundreds of civilians, they are silent ... they do not comment or take concrete action against the Palestinians. They did not impose sanctions against Israel which clearly violated human rights and international law. Aren't they ashamed of the comments they make? For 75 years Palestine lived under suffering, oppression, expulsion, occupation, invasion, and blockade of Israel, is that time not short? Where have you been all this time? What were you made for? and for whom?

History is repeating itself here. Let’s spend a moment to think about The sufferings of Palestinians when the illegal state of Israel attacked them and US used its veto power.
The world is definitely bigger than 5. They must finish that veto power from 5 countries. America also used its veto power when the illegal state of Israel was killing innocent Palestinians and the whole world could not do anything about it. This is just another example for the world.

How many times has the US vetoed a UN resolution that everyone else voted for?

UN shame on you. 2001 you remember the invasion of Afghanistan?

Any state should not be allowed a vote if the resolution accuses them! It's like a murderer having say in their criminal verdict. Absolutely ridiculous state of affairs.

You didn't see this reaction when they did this to Serbia back in 1999, the hypocrisy in this one is huge almost funny if not tragic.

Is all about politics, not about humanity.
Where are you guys when Palestine need your help?
This invasion of Ukraine is only 1% of what Palestine people feel. If we really talk about peace and humanity, , no more war. And free Palestine and Free Ukraine

It's not surprising how many times US vetoed the action against Israel.
Double standard US

Where was all this "Democracy "when Afghanistan was being invaded?

Please follow US footsteps and call it "Liberation" and not "Invasion". That was what US call it in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia and the list goes on... Why the double standard? Confused... Please enlighten.
