I'm Polish and my parents would sing this to us after the "Happy Birthday" song. When they retired, they moved into an independent senior living community and sang it to everyone after their Birthday song. When my dad passed away, the priest in his eulogy asked everyone to sing Sto Lat. Still tears me up to this day.
