The CE (color edition) has the built in screen protector making it harder to damage the screen than the 84 non CE calculators.

I found a TI84 Silver Edition in the garbage. With a little research I downloaded the connectivity sw & the OS. THE 2.55 OS upgrade was flawless. 4 x AA batteries & a USB connector.

The HP prime graphing calculator is the greatest graphing calculator hands down.

I wasn't allowed to use a calculator during tests for pre-calc, calc1, calc2, calc3. Kids if you want the best and CAS is of no concern, HP prime is the one to get.

Actually, I don’t know about TI, but on Casio you can download programs that will turn your calculator into a CAS machine later on if you need it. These TIs are great machines and I am pretty sure for the TI-84/CE these kind of programs also exist. Most teachers would make you reset your calculators to factory settings before you took a test.

The whole 84 series has MathPrint as far as I know.

You can find programs from different website that are for different math topics. For instance, a Program that would factor a non perfect square root. Or a Program that factory a Trinomial Equation.
