We had the same in UK with cheap unfettered Immigration from the EU (which because we were members of the EU, we could not control)

In California, an illegal immigrant can get free welfare, unemployment, healthcare, and college. You can even get fired from evry job because you're an alcoholic and show up to work late or not at all, and still get unemployment. But to get all this same stuff free, a you have to serve in the military and get honorably discharged. If you're a veteran of 20 years or more and receive a pension, you don't qualify for unemployment.

The U.S. as a whole is roughly 60% Caucasian and 40% People Of Color, so theoretically if a standard high school class has 35 students, then 21 would be Caucasian and 14 would be People Of Color. Now, not every state has this ratio of 60-40, for many states in the South are less then 50% Caucasian (including my state Texas), while states in the Center and North are over 75% Caucasian. In my high school, my graduating class was about 275 students, and the ratio of Caucasian to People Of Color students was similar to that 60-40 ratio, but my classes Top 10% had only 4 People Of Color students (including myself) out of 27. So overall, our outlooks and opinions on people of different races and ethnic backgrounds will vary greatly depending on how often we interact with individuals who are different then us.

i was allowed to stay 15 years ago but have no way to fully settle in this country. and if I leave I will not be able to return for 10 years. I am a law abiding taxes paying alien. Worked my way from cleaning houses for rich folks in Miami back in 2006 to supervising a department at a financial institution today. This work permit is my American dream that I am fully aware will never come true 100%.

US Government and media be like: Let's give billions of dollars to wealthy counties like Saudi Arabia and Israel, as well as already wealthy American citizens and the overspent military industrial complex for no real reason.
Also US Government and media: We can't afford to spend millions of dollars to help poor people in the Caribbean, Central America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, on top of not being able to help poor American citizens 1st.

I took a Sociology course at Texas Christian University where I learned that we could fit every person on the planet just in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Greenland with still plenty of room left over, so population isn't the main problem but rather the lack of properly distributing natural resources and extreme wealth inequality. So, guys like Tucker Carlson, Charlie Kirk, Dan Patrick, and Jim Jordan (just to name a few) just don't want more people coming into the United States that don't look like them, as well as making them feel uncomfortable when they see them already here.

Reihan Salam is well spoken but he is incorrect to call the United States a democracy, it isn't. It is a constitutional republic, or rather, a Republic based upon a Constitution that has lasted longer than any other Constitution that was ever created before it. That is what we are, if anyone has spine enough to keep it that way. Thats one of the problems, it takes an education for starters.

Go down a list of countries and ask their leaders/citizens if Westerners can come regardless of legal filings, immediately take work/jobs from locals and go on federal/government assistance.
If not, why should we do the same.
