Note: It appears I got a couple things wrong about toradora in this video, and for that i’d like to apologize for some inaccuracies. I’ve only ever seen the anime, so I wasn’t aware of any differences in the manga. It’s also been a while since I washed the show so I may have remembered some parts incorrectly. I’ll be sure to double check my facts in videos moving forward. Thanks for your criticism as well as your support :)

Well... Taiga leaving isn't sad, not really, because Ryoji trusts her and knows she'll come back.
What's disappointing is the reason she leaves and the lack of reward for that. She wants to patch things up with her family so that she and Ryoji can get married the proper way, but we never see them getting married, which is the disappointing part.
A final timeskip wedding episode where we also get to catch up with all the minor characters would have been a rewarding ending.

Toradora rlly means a lot to me. I was in middle school when I first saw it - my friend told me I remind her of Taiga because I was short, blonde, hip length hair, tiny and angry. I genuinely had the build of an elementary schooler for a long time lol (I still do? I’m 5’1 and 86 lbs LMAO). But this anime made me accept myself because a lot of the times I would try to change who I was. But I realized if people can love Taiga for who she is, I can find people who love me the way I am as well. And so I stopped trying to be someone else. Im 25 now and every year I rewatch it again

The ending was sad? I complete understood the ending. Ryoji & Taiga went thru some of the things happened between me and my girlfriend. Before we got together, I made my move but was friendzoned by her for 3 years. All our friends knew & constantly teased us about it. She finally cracked & we gave it a try. Sadly it didn't last long & we broke up. It felt really bad. But later we found each other again, truly in love, but went thru a lot of difficulties that we couldn't even tell our friends & families about. We worked it out. That took another 5 years, we were finally ready. I popped the question & she accepted it. In toradora I totally get what they were going thru. Their ending was same as mine. Love takes work. My girlfriend & I trusted each other. We knew if one of us is not ready then we could never truly be together. We fought hard & got what we deserved. And I know how would Ryoji & Taiga's lives would continue after the show. They continue to work hard for each other, had their wedding, supported each other in their careers, bought their own house, cars, went traveling, & had 2 beautiful kids. I know because that's my life. My wife & I have been married for 20 years now.
Watching Toradora brought me so much tears.

For context, I found out about this anime a few days ago, and when the last few episodes were coming, I got so nervous that they wouldn't get together. There were 6 episodes left and I was just shaking because of how nervous I was. Then I was happy when they got together, then she left. And I was literally crying because they didn't get the happy ending, and because I just wanted to see their characters one last time before the end, I watched the credits. Then I saw the after credits, I was sad for the whole thing. She came back and I had a sly smile with tears pouring down my face, and when it ended it was late at night. And I couldn't fall asleep because of how sad I was. I still am sad after finishing it 2 days ago and started to watch the series again. But I am still depressed from the ending. Even though it might not happen, all I can hope is that they make a second season with their relationship growing during college with drama, but still with the drama of the first season. While writing this, I am just crying because I know it won't happen, but again. I just have to hope. Most people simp for these characters, but I care about them as if they were my family or my friends. I care about these characters so much. I will forever miss this anime even though I found out about it 15 years too late from when it first started airing. And I am leaving this here, so I can never forget about this video and anime. Hoping that at least in a year, someone will like the video reminding me of this comment and anime. Bye for now guys.

Out of all the characters Minori was the one who got hurt the most and i felt bad for her.

The whole time she really did like Ryuuji, but when she saw how good Taiga & Ryuuji were together she bottled her feelings up just to be happy for them despite wanting to cry whenever she saw them together. I felt like Minori & Kitamura would make a nice couple but then Kitamura revealed that he wasin love with the Student Council President and planned to follow her to the US when he graduated and Minori just... Stayed behind and didn't really do anything else except tell her crush to pursue her best friend

this was the first anime to give me severe post anime syndrome. and that is a genuine compliment. there are rarely anime that i remember after a few months, yet toradora has stuck with me for over a decade now. it was genuinely was got me into rom-coms/drama and slice-of-life. to this day, i still hold it as the standard for rom-coms and i have yet to find an anime that truly compares. i had watched countless other anime to try and replace the void that toradora left me with, and the only anime that i've seen that really captures toradora's feel was "the pet girl of sakurasou".

The ending seemed really rushed. They finally confess and before they even kiss they are going to get married? It quickly twists to her moving away and ends. Then we get a short quick post credit of them in the future. I think a lot of anime end as soon as the relationship begins because the build up is exciting. Keeping that excitement while portraying a relationship is difficult. It's one thing I loved about Horimiya. They didn't wait an entire series to have them realize they both loved each other. We got to see them struggle and enjoy actually being together.

Toradora has been a real impact on my life; probably a lot of ours. I loved the ending, yet rlly want a second season if ever possible. This is one of my top 5 FAVORITE Anime’s Ever!!! This show rlly means a lot to tons of fans, including me, slightly feeling like I am emotionally attached/connected to the characters. Loved it. Truly recommended!!

Excellent break down and exactly what I came to think when I saw first saw the ending. It's bittersweet only because it leaves us wanting more, not because it's missing something.

I missed the final scene of the show the first time i watched it, felt so empty, i binge watched it a second time the day after and I felt fulfilled seeing the part with her in the Locker

For me it's sad just because of Minorin. She loves Ryuji and knew he loved her, yet she did nothing. Seeing her ammitting her feelings, just to then help him realize his own and cry as soon as he left... that broke me down. AND THAT HAPPENED TWICE IN ONE EP! Minorin really deserved better
