Magnus on his approach to openings:

"Be Magnus Carlsen"

Carlsen has a point here. It doesn't matter how good your theory is if your other skills in the middle and end game aren't up to par. I have lost tons of games in the middle and end game despite knowing my prep.

He played 24 games in mind while speaking

Hey Magnus, I don’t know if you personally read these but you are the greatest player ever and I’m so happy I’m alive to witness your greatness.

Why does the Norway navy have bar codes on the sides of their ships?

So when they come back to port they can Scandinavian.

One heck of a modest guy, Magnus. Enjoy your new freedoms.

Watching his streams and Banter blitz. I realised magnus has his own opening theory, in the form of opening 'rules'. So that he doesn't have to memorize every opening in the market. And how he can Equalise quickly, even if opponent plays some sharp opening theory.

So he beat vishy without having best opening prep. He is a world champion for a reason. An exceptional chess player in history. People fail to realise he is the GOAT. We may not see this kind of player in next 100-200years or ever again. For me he is the 🐐

translation: 'I stopped playing theory heavy openings because I simply don't have to. I'm just so incredibly good, I can play whatever, clap my opponents and have more fun in the process'.

Empezó a utilizar líneas algo secundarias gracias a la sugerencia que tomó de Tsschessumare, en algunas clases particulares que tuvo Magnus con él en el Himalaya.

All the opening prep in the world can't save you from poor endgame technique or a lack of middlegame ideas. Carlsen proves that raw chess skill is superior. He literally can open 1. a3 and just win on chess positional understanding.

It’s still 1988-1989 Garry Kasparov for me, but MC does what MC does best and equalised the position. All talk of who was better or not is pointless in my view: these two were the best of their respective eras and that’s all that can be said. Subjectively, though, I think Kasparov’s reign was more dominant and for longer against a tougher field. That’ll do for me.

ALL..the immortal chess players had only one thing in were the greatest endgame players of their fact openings wont make you a good player because at some point you will have to know how to find the best chess players can take advantage of sub-par opening moves..because they commit them to they are pros because they can find their way while in the middle the course you need to be able to play all most games come down to endings pro or hobby players both..
