HOW TO ADD IN EXCEL | ADDING MULTIPLE NUMBERS VERTICALLY AND HORIZONTALLY IN EXCEL

In this video, I will be showing you the different ways on how to add in excel. If you need to sum a column or row of numbers, let Excel do the math for you.

There are a couple of different ways in getting the sum of numbers in Microsoft excel and I’ll show you on how to do it. Make sure to finish the video till to the end because I have a little hack that I will share.

You can do similar steps on adding, subtracting and dividing in Excel. You can watch detailed tutorials on how to do these calculations.

First Method (Using Autosum)
1. First select a cell which you want to display the result.
2. Go to home tab and click AutoSum.
3. Press Enter and you’re done.

In adding numbers horizontally, just follow the first method.

Second Method (Typing)
1. Click on the cell in which you want to display the result.
2. Type the equal sign, sum, then open parenthesis
3. Click and highlight the range that you want to sum up.
4. Close the parentheses and hit enter.

Third Method (Using Plus Sign)
1. Click on the cell in which you want to display the result.
2. Type the equal sign then open parenthesis.
3. Type cell that contains the first number to be added. (e.g. b2, b3, b4, etc.)
4. Type the plus symbol then type the second cell to be added.
5. Then type plus B4, plus B5, plus B6, etc.
6. Close the parenthesis then hit enter.
