Debbie, the fourth named system of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season, made landfall in Florida near Steinhatchee this morning, with winds of 80mph. Since then, it has weakened over land.
In the next few days, however, it is expected to dump 20-30 inches of rainfall along the Georgia and South Carolina coastlines. This is an extreme event for the region and will lead to extensive flooding.
Meanwhile, the flow around this storm will actually help cool our temperatures down in the later part of the week, and we remain quiet through the Mid-South.
