This channel is the best advertisement for me to keep and maintain for ever my 14-year old naturally aspirated V6.

It’s the dealers people don’t want to deal with. People feel cheated after buying from dealership. The haggling and opaque price structure.

I think this is payback because of the greed that these stealerships where engaged in here in the US by adding thousands of dollars to the list price, now it's come to bite them in the rear. Many are still doing this to both ICE and EV vehicles.

No wonder! Here in USA i tried to get lease offer for base Mach-e. It came out was used but they still could lease it to me for $600+ wtih $0 down. For a vehicle that was priced at $40k. I think the dealerships are failing Ford EV sales. Even they do apply Tax credit towards the lease the tend to mark up with exactly $7500

Vehicles of all types are not selling due to inflation and higher interest rates. Also banks have tightened lending on vehicles making purchasing a new vehicle even more difficult. And even at the lower price vehicles are just unaffordable.

It's the Tesla effect. Model Y pricing changes destroyed the MachE sales. Unfortunately for F-150 Lightning, they sailed through preorders and then had to raise prices, killing any momentum they had.

Dealers do not get repeat oil change and maintenance fees on E vehicles, they want them to fail.

Ford went to a business model of selling less, more expensive cars, taking great advantage of the COVID related supply problems - and their profiteering dealers made that even worse. Tesla called their bluff on EVs, and the MACH-E joined all those US$80, 000+ trucks, EV or not, are piling up in dealer's lots. A basic truck should cost US$40, 000, they have huge reductions ahead of them to get people buying their cars again. Their sales are bolstered by fleet orders catching up after COVID for now, but that bump will be gone in a few quarters. The MACH-E is completely uncompetitive at current prices. Even VW EVs are more cost competitive in the US.

They need to change the way they sell cars and change the laws restricting them from doing so

Goodbye dealerships. Tesla’s direct to consumer business model passes savings directly to the buyer. Who needs a dealership?

I just walked into a ford dealer in the south of England where I live and they had a new Mach E for sale in the showroom, priced at who the hell can afford or want to pay that much money for a ford?

The dealerships need to go! No one wants pay for higher EV markups.

Perhaps, like many other niche vehicles, everybody that wants one has already bought it. I keep looking at EVs, but so far none are a suitable match for what I would like a vehicle to do.

The Mach-E competes directly with the Tesla Model Y. That is a tough sell and I don’t think cutting the price will help.

I kind of like the Mach-E, but the longer range version is still overpriced relative to the competition.

You should take a look at EV depreciation. In the UK it’s twice the loss of a normal vehicle.

That goes for every dealer based company. They haven't sold very many to actual customers. Ive seen probably 5sh EVs where I live total that weren't Tesla's. I see 20 to 40 Tesla's every day. Model Y is everywhere.

Thanks for the video! I had a depost down for 2 years on the F150 lighting. When I was able to finally pre-order they didn't honor the price and raised it by $13k. After waiting for 2 years and not giving it to me for the price I put a deposit down for on the truck, I was not happy the way Ford handled it. So, I canceled my order and i'm waiting to see what tuck will be under $50k with 250 plus range.

One of the things about Ford is that most of the markets that they supply are rural. Rural locatins in the US are hundreds of miles apart from dense municipal areas. There isnt a realiable charging infrastructure for public charging in most of the US and installing EV chargers at home is an upfront cost too. Those who can afford housing in the US are, on average, not the EV interested buyer. Those who live in apartments have only heard of the difficulty of getting charging to qork for their daily needs. Until the US has 10 dc150kw chargers for every local single gas pump, this charging difficulty will continue to exist. Tesla is doing well because tesla isnt trying to appeal directly to rural or lower-middle class american buyers.

I am kinda shocked; here in the San Francisco Bay Area I actually see a few dealers with multiple MachE’s for sale. Here in California it’s a hyper market for EVs. Kia and Hyundai look like they’re still selling well here. I think mostly leases though.
