I'm a long time meditator and recently came across Loch's work while dealing with high functioning depression that had persisted for years and proved resistant to many approaches and treatment modalities I'd explored. After some reading and some audio and video guided excercises, I began to utilize his "glimpse" practices which gave me access to a remarkably smooth, spacious, relaxed and ease full state of awareness. And my depression lifted... virtually evaporated and hasn't returned. This was some months ago. I'm going to NY in June for his one day event. I'm agnostic on Loch's hypothesis as to why this subtle identity shift produces the profound results it does for people, but I'm a pragmatist and his work has changed my life. I look forward to meeting him.

As a long time meditator Loch's approach of Effortless Mindfulness has transformed my life and I am so grateful. I have done long retreats, traveled to Asia and studied with many of the great meditation and non-dual wisdom teachers of our time. I have found that effortless mindfulness is profoundly simpler, more direct, and has supported being able to live from a interconnected loving awake nature more and more. And....it is so much fun! Yup. True. I can tell you know what you are talking about from the way you use your hands. Very dear and generous teaching. Some cultures (I know of) call this their best, their diamonds. Of course, it is nothing but words, just pebbles, until the diamonds light from doing/being what this points at.

Deliberate mindfulness and effortless mindfulness. We create one pointed concentration on breath in deliberate mindful meditation. It keeps us on a narrow focus. IN effortless mindfulness you create spacious awareness. Our breath is connected to the inner and outer world. Open focus interconnectedness is effortless mindfulness. One Observes the context in effortless mindfulness. It is a like a flow state. During activity one can do the effortless mindfulness. Open heart and open mind shifting. Need to join a workshop and study properly.

This sounds like visualization techniques.
Concentrating on your breath is concentrating on something that's really happening.
This leaps away from that to the universe of ideas.

Uhm....so this Sensei Seagal and this Aikido ....they are Other Types of meditation?
