I found my Abuela's authentic Sofrito recipe, and I'm excited to share a piece of Puerto Rican cuisine with you! 🌶️

SOFRITO RECIPE:
Ingredients:
- 5 Spanish onions, roughly chopped
- 2 heads of garlic (I only used the big cloves) - peeled
- 1 green pepper, roughly chopped
- 1 red pepper, roughly chopped
- I bunch cilantro, stems removed
- 1 5.75oz jar red pimento stuffed olives, drained
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 1.5 tsp cumin
- Salt to imagination ❤️
Add ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth till smooth slightly chunky.
Sauté 2-3 oz of Sofrito in 2 Tbsp olive oil when cooking with 1 lb meat, 1 cup of rice, or 4 cups of vegetables.
Freeze in a designated ice tray to store and save for later!
*NOTE: thaw before sautéing in oil* 🔥
