The American working culture has a reputation for not affording employees a good work-life balance. More time outside of work means more opportunities to explore their new surroundings, immerse themselves in their community, spend time with family and enjoy a better quality of life and happiness. #america #unitedstates #usa #europe #lifestyle #economy #american #buy #buying #selling #sell #worklifebalance #life #working #work #workers #country #living #livinglife #people #americandream #unclesam

I am hesitant to believe anyone who quotes statistics out of context. With that being said, I am a strong proponent of a minimalist lifestyle. Have stuff but only what you need and make it durable. Example; My bicycle is 36 years old because nothing new is worth buying.

Happy is not the one who has more. It’s the one who doesn’t need a lot.

before I even clicked on the video my response was going to be this: "They can start with smaller portions." We have become pigs and because overweight is the standard nobody knows. Of course, business caters to profits. Type 2 diabetes has skyrocketed. One look at the rows of candy, chips, and cookies at any convenience store will confirm this. And, it ain't gonna stop.

I love the way (US) Americans think that 'Europeans' are one people living all in the same way.
It's like saying that (real) Americans (i.e. from Canadians to Argentinians) are one people.
Incidentally, US-Americans don't want to live like Europeans.
They want to have nice teeth, not free health care...

What a waste of energy for so many electrical appliances. What's the point of having several TVs and fridges and everything else. These are unnecessary costs when everything is already so expensive in the USA. When will they really learn. And are then devastated when the bills can no longer be paid.

Europeans consume and spend less because the cost of living is generally cheaper, government invests in mass transit, healthcare, childcare etc…. In Europe you can survive without a car. In the US besides a select few regions, you NEED a car to get around… they are happier because the government mandates paid vacations, maternity and paternity leave, education is much cheaper etc……. It’s almost like their government actually invests in their population or something.
