Stents are sometimes useful, but they cause many problems.

4:40 I recommend these two things as the long-term solution to healthy arteries

In this video, I explain the cascade of problems that can be caused by stents. Originally, medical providers used angioplasty as a procedure to clear blocked arteries. The problem with this is that a condition called restenosis, in which the tissue grows back, can happen. Then stents were created; they are a metal mesh inserted into the artery to keep it open. Retenosis would still occur, just less often.

Then a drug-eluting stent was created, which helped, but led to the side effect of thrombosis (clotting). In response came dual antiplatelet therapy. But once you come off this treatment, you’re still subject to heart problems. Some doctors decide to leave people on this treatment indefinitely; the problem with this is that your risk of bleeding increases. This is especially risky if you need surgery or are injured. Stents are useful in certain situations, but they’re overused.

First of all, clogged arteries aren’t just a plumbing problem. There’s always some kind of damage to the artery that triggers the cascade effect, beginning with inflammation. Then your body sends cholesterol, calcium, and protein as a band-aid for the damage. In the presence of nutrient deficiency this bandage process is accelerated, especially if you’re low on vitamin E, vitamin C, or certain B vitamins, or certain other nutrients that protect against oxidative damage from inflammation.

High levels of insulin are often behind inflammation in the arteries. People who consume too many carbohydrates, not too much fat, have high insulin. Low vitamin K2 is also a problem, because K2 helps keep calcium out of your arteries. And the source of vitamin K2 is fatty foods, so if you’re getting the recommendation to lower your fat consumption, that will deprive you of K2. Not to mention that being put on a statin to lower cholesterol increases your insulin resistance and insulin level. And other issues!

I recommend you do your own research on the relationship between arteries and insulin. As well, go on a healthy ketogenic diet and combine it with intermittent fasting. Then you have a chance of minimizing the real problem, and eliminate the need for stents.

I had a drug eluding stent in my LAD in 2006. I have been on a statin for i5 years, but supplementing with CoQ10 because statins block the pathway to making this. I went off the statin in March & started intermittent fasting & have been doing ever since. Brought my A1C to 5.7 which my doctor thinks is OK. I don.t. My LDL went up & he sent me to a cardiologist. I told him about the fasting, weight training, & HIIT that I do. He told me I was the healthiest 77 year old he has ever seen, but still recommended a statin. My HDL is excellent & my triglycerides are low, but traditional medicine doesn't care about these, only LDL. I'm sticking to my plan.

Dr Berg seems to be more analytical and knowledgeable than many medical doctors. many medical doctors cannot and do not tell you the real mechanisms behind how the body truely works and functions. thanks dr Berg for your explanations and detail educating the public. God bless you for your dedication. Mary Christ Mass and Happy holidays. JMJ forever. Jean.

Very important information - the last fifty years of pharmaceutical controlled medicine has created so many problems that they then "cure" with operations and more pharmaceuticals - your diet information is so important - and as usual, you explain things in a way that most people with no medical background can understand. This is important as individuals try to navigate the medical system - and perhaps more important as they face the judgments and wrongly informed opinions of their family members and friends - -the world desperately needs to hear the knowledge that you present - - Thank you!

If all doctors were like Dr. Berg, we’d have only a fraction of the health issues we see!

Beautiful explanation thank you. My cardiologist did not explain all that . Although I knew what you just explained. You have just reinforced my commonsense that stems from 30 years of reading and researching about nutrition.. it’s shocking what these cardiologist do to people . If you are like me asymptotic do not go thru that process. Stent are life savings if you do have serious issues .. otherwise make life changing.. ❤️💫🙏

Great explanations, Dr. B!! I’m looking into your wheat grass powder. While I love eating leafy greens and generally use coconut oil and butter as a dressing, I can’t manage to eat enough of them every day.
Keep up the great work!

Dr Berg - you provide an excellent public service. Another fact re stents - once in, they need to be “flushed”/ cleaned every 5 or so years (with all the related risks of a blood clot moving to heart or lungs or brain). They should be the absolute last avenue taken. Linus Pauling and Matthias Rath wrote about Lysine and it’s rolein preventing heart attacks or strokes even with high insulin resistance (tho of course, taking lysine, proline and Vit C as suggested is a treatment to address the impact of IR (which while present prevents absorption of VitC - and which is why Linus Pauling suggested heart disease is actually scurvy undiagnosed).

Again thank you for your excellent advice - it’s amazing to me that you, Dr Mandel and Dr Mercola (who educated me about K2 about 7 years ago) face such resistance from the traditional medical community. They should be ashamed of their lack of curiosity to learn and digest what you gentlemen educate about.

i enjoy the no nonsense approach and especially the interactions caused by big pharma products. I am one of the people who cannot and do not take statins. Keep up the enlightening work.

I.V. EDTA dicalcium chelation should be recommended to alot of these patients BEFORE they would ever need a stent. awesome and truely therapeutic and beneficial treatment to unclog arteries and open up arteries. and of course a clean, whole food based diet with it. some functional and wholistic MD s do this treatment for their patients.
