I told my father in law to stay away from the statin drugs they gave him and that it was linked to cancer and he didn't listen do within about 1 year he was fine one day and the next the thing popped out the side of his beck and grew like crazy! This name has the heart of a 20 year old at age 93 and has been healthy till thes3 drs started telling him " thing he needed to worry about". Cholesterol responsible for healing and building our brains making vital hormones and the idea that cholesterol alone is the reason for the heart attack has been disproven BUT these drs don't share that.

The statin my Dr. wanted me to take causes memory loss in some patients. I was thinking I don't need memory loss when I'm driving out in the middle of nowhere.

So if after a mini heart attack and having had a stent. You change your diet, stop smoking and do regular exercise and get your bmi and blood preasure correct then surly a patient can stop taking meds 12 months or so after? the NSTEMI. That is of coarse that the long term damage hasn't already been done.
