Combining MATH with Architecture

Have you ever tried to use your math skills to integrate with the design of your project? In this tutorial, I will show you how to create three towers that complement each other based on parametricism and trigonometry. The inspiration for this video comes from the conceptual project called Ternary Tower designed by Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio.

First, we will create a vertical line, then it will be divided into multiple segments where each of them represents a single period of the cosine wave. In the next step at each segment, we will create equally distributed points that will be used as a center of circles on XY plane. Their radius will be based on the values generated from the cosine wave.

The extended version of this tutorial will be focused on creating surface openings in order to get a rhythmic effect following the shape logic. In this process, we will get the vectors first that will be used to generate point attractors. Based on their position the size of the openings will be created.

Architecture is math unless you don’t know anything about architecture.
