Look at the east coast of the US, now measure the distanc to Britain

I did the same for africa and south America and Africa, india and australia, and such.
Thie leads me to conclude that the map is depicting the world after pangea

I’m from Myanmar, and it is common for maps to list the capital as Yangon. Due to it being the biggest city and the most well known. I also firmly believe that Yangon should be the capital.

i have a feeling the mapmaker was told to make the capital of myanmar yangon most likely because though it was officially changed it wasn’t known enough when the map was made since it takes a bit of time considering it’s a rather unknown location

i mean, the map IS in what i presume is Serbo-Croatian (could be Slovenian, but theres too little text shown for me to know, so i'll assume Serbo-Croatian as i can speak it), so i could see why they'd not put the AP Kosovo as independent.

...then again, it IS in the latin script, so it could be either a Bosnian or Croatian textbook, as Bosnia doesn't recognize Kosovo, but Croatia does. probably a Bosnian textbook, but possible its a pre-2008 Croatian textbook
