Instead of hiding in the back room, you could stand outside the shop in a Spider-Man suit. Tell me of a child/parent that wouldn’t want to be served by a superhero!

Bec can do the night shift hours, as wonderwoman - business would be boomin’

I remember seeing this sign on the door of a gift shop years ago
“Browsers Welcome”
And it has stayed with me, I think it’s a great thing to have on your shop door as people do get worried that they can’t just pop in.

Hi a friend of mine a few years ago had a similar size shop to yours, he tried a few different things to get people to come in to the shop, it seems that 'motion' catches peoples eye more that anything else, from what I remember these are the things that worked:
1. he had an illuminated 'WE Are Open' sign in the window that rocked from side to side,
2. he had several well lit items inside the shop that moved in some way
3. he had music playing at a low level all of the time
4. he also had an A board outside on the pavement with the words 'Take a look' and an arrow pointing towards the door.
I hope this gives you some ideas

Shop looks great guys, you have done really well.! It just looks a bit empty, looks like its half filled and needs replenishing. Need to get that prime retail space full with stock, you guys have loads of empty space bro. The more variety and stock you have the more likely you are to draw more footfall into the shop. Espically now the footfall is so precious nowadays.!
But aye what do i know, keep going and keep up the hustle, i look forward to these videos every day pop up in my notifications !!!

Get rid of the chandelier in the window and replace it with spotlights.
Also get an A board if the council allows it. Either a dry erase one or chalkboard.
Leave the door open as much as possible. There's a reason chain retailers use curtain heaters above their doors rather close them in winter.

Over a hundred comments? Wow these shop vlogs are getting popular! My comment will likely be lost especially since I'm posting it hours after the video before I get some sleep. Just get an "Open" sign for the window. I've seen then in small shops for years. Another idea to get your window attention. Since Halloween will be past soon and the madness know as Christmas shopping season will be starting in a few weeks how about putting a string of blinking Christmas lights around the edges of the shop window? Would be a cheerful reminder of the upcoming season and get shoppers in the mood to come in and buy!

Loving how you look for positive. Been enjoying these store vlogs. Insperational. How do you find wholesale companies? I only ever find vintage clothing or cheap china stock.

Some sort of lights in the window may help too, like the open sign you mentioned and a sandwich board on the sidewalk maybe?

I was thinking some sort of led rope light, the kind that makes it look like the light is chasing itself, around the inside of the window to catch people's attention.

I don't think it helps being set back from the shop on the right, as you are looking at the front of the store, as you are probably a little bit hidden from people coming that way. Also the scaffolding on the left probably hides you a bit from that direction as well. These two things are out of your control but hopefully the scaffolding won't be there for too long and will then give people walking past a better view of your shop.

That was going to be one of my points I had the problem with our shop, you think it's OK, but look from the other side of the road. You need T5 daylight bulbs. I added double tube ones and it really made the difference to my visitor numbers.

As for making the shop look ‘open’ I would recommend getting an outside sign with your logo and saying “we are open”

As others have said, I would highly recommend Pokemon items for sale

Get an old pub sign a free standing one and put it outside when your open it’ll help advertise and didn’t cost a lot

One of those cheap blue and red neon open signs would do for a short term solution. You could hang it high up in the window so it doesn't interfere with the display.

If people can't tell a shop is open when the door is wide open then there's no hope for this world 😂 You're doing just fine.

Looking on Google maps, the previous shop used a chalk board A-frame out the front along with a sign on the bollard.

Don't think grey days help with light and will get worse when clocks change, great you addressing customers concerns

Well, nearly Xmas lol... christmas lights will help... but my TV advertising idea for the window is an easy using a cheap 10 quid monitor from marketplace or a real TV with a SDcard on rotation of slides... moving OPEN signs do help, but one other thing is the clock's go back/forward, so it will be darker soon so that also comes into it. So is the Fascia sign lightbox on or off?
