Shouldn’t the foam board be installed with modified cement using a fiberglass back detail mesh to wrap around to the front for extra strength? And the adhesive motor be vertically troweled with a notched unit to provide a path for water to run out at ground termination? Either poor widows or bad instruction without ice & water shield be placed in the opening prior to the window installation with a proper drip cap on top, this will seal from further rain, moisture that forms where the temperature changes with high humidity on days were extreme temperature difference form dew on grass. Your shoes are wet after walking across the lawn for the AM newspaper or mail. This condensate form behind the styrofoam boards, causing water droplets to drip out then air to circulate behind to dry out on a vapor barrier orc ice & water shield, then drip out the bottom of the finish? Correct? If a non-permeable seal wrap or coating is not applied to wood sheaving, it will cause rot and damage to structure in a short time. In the U. S., EFIS systems where looked down upon as these steps were not taken on wood structures, as mold, mushrooms, and wood rot occurred as Tar paper or asphalt felt was the only barrier used. The poor installation or windows or doors using cheaper products failed quickly, writhing 3 years of new construction occurred! It was devastating to the EIFS industry. Just my two cents worth! DK. The first method of applying the mortar is the best, easiest and less mess, only discovered it last year because people can't teach you shit in these jobs

Good video. Is it necessary to drill those holes and insert those plastic anchors in? The reason I ask is because I recently had this EPS Insulation done on my front house over pebble dash. It was free of charge done via government scheme eco target. Once the black eps boards was installed, the builders sanded it down and then put base coat on followed by silicone render. I am worried now that something may have been missed that could cause problems later.
