So place in something metal to divert the electrical pulse… that actually makes so much sense and thank you! I love your postings and how direct you are. It is very much appreciated. God Bless you and your family!

What a great idea, they have those metal cans at Tractor supply... Thanks for the great tip.

To avoid shock when opening your Faraday cage wear thick oven mitts.

Thanks for the info but I have a question what about batteries for the flash lights and radios

Where do you buy those thick Freeze your bags at the ones you have in your Metal can.

I just conducted a test with my phone wrapped in cloth then in a thick plastic bag and then put in a mylar food storage bag and the top folded over three times and tried to call it from another phone. It worked perfectly!

I have both of those style containers and they both still allow radios and cell phones to work when they are inside. I don’t think those containers work- I do not know why.

I found a rubber bucket that flares towards the top and it's a perfect fit for my Faraday Cage. Found it Dollar Tree.

This has the added benefit of storing your kids' phones when you ground them! ;)

Watching your info on the cages. Where can I get the ammo can? Thx

Great video, but I have a question. I have rechargeable LED lightbulbs. I was thinking about getting an extra set. I’m assuming since they are LED that they would need to go in faraday cages as well?

Good video. I'd recommend any comms being added to the pile, as well as any small smart batteries, (like 18650 with chips), and any new LED household bulbs. It would be a bummer to not have household bulbs!

I made a faraday cage for my bed. Covered it with aluminum mesh screen, all sides are double layered. The cage also has a copper wire touching it and is in the ground out side. When I got in the cage with my phone WiFi and phone service still works perfectly. Any advice?

Thank you again for all the good advice.

The Faraday cage is to protect from 'electromagnetic' interference .. not radiation itself. It's purpose is to protect electronic equipment from being damaged by an EMP source that will generate high voltage and high current surges across the surface of a metal container.
The cage MUST be electrically 'airtight' and a rubber seal WILL matter as electromagnetic waves will pass through rubber.
The items within the cage must be electrically insulated from the cage itself .. that is .. wrap each item in something that does NOT conduct electricity.
Inside my cages, I have used marine carpet to line the inside and to ensure that nothing within the case will be able to come in contact with the actual case metal.
If you wrap each item individually with aluminum tape or use a mylar bag ... make sure to insulate the item from the aluminium or mylar as well.
Remember, if you use aluminium/copper tape to seal any gaps, there is a thin layer of non-conductive 'adhesive' that's being used to stick the tape to the cage ... therefore, ideally, you need to ensure that the tape is ACTUALLY electrically connected to the cage.
At the end of the day, it can't just look the part, it needs to actually do what it's supposed to do!
If you should be unfortunate enough to experience a nuclear detonation and live through it, DON'T open the case straight away .... there may well be more detonations to come over an extended time frame.

I’m here because of flashlights and lanterns. Not a bad idea to get some original incandescent mag lites while they still make them. Multiple cans would be best with like items as a redundancy. There can be other EMPs detonated at a later date to hit the previously shielded items when in use.

Simple instructions! Thanks.

I was wondering what your thoughts would be with an aluminum metal box? I have a large “tool” box made of aluminum that seals like an ammo can. Bigger than the ammo box you show in this video.

Also - are the items you store in your faraday cage backups to your day to day electronics!

I appreciate all that you do!
