I get that there’s a lot of people struggling right now but if you’re a young dude reading this, please don’t take this stuff to heart. Not only will hopelessness get you nowhere but there’s no reason to be hopeless in the first place, this doesn’t apply to everybody but it probably applies to you. The things you want are attainable, go the gym, eat right, get sleep, learn a trade or get your degree in something specific and useful. Talk to girls, initiate hangouts with friends, talk to strangers, meet new people, try new things. Please don’t be hopeless, you already have everything you’ll ever need.

I'm an Eastern European who grew up on US media and even as a little kid I spent a lot of time on the internet watching US youtubers and influencers, to the point that I started to associate myself more with US culture than my own despite being born and raised in Montenegro. I didn't realize how much brainrot this induced on me and how it negatively impacted my social life until I was like 18-19. It induced me with mindless consumerism, materialism and false sense of values. I'm glad I was able to recognize that and revise my views.
