It's nice for some characters but the Mappa version takes away the dead look that makes Mikey menacing like in the manga. Takemitchy doesn't even look like himself because his eyes look like everyone's else. Baji and Drakken look nice, but certain eyes being changed takes away the original design of the character.

Sometimes less is indeed more. Original looks more faithful to manga and that imo makes it better.

I never really looked deeper into comparing animations when it comes to studios, but this puts it into perspective, mappa's animators are really good at shading, making things look shinier, and those little specks of details as scratch marks from fights that some would just draw as plain lines.

I like everything except for the fact that Mikey has a pupil
