Most production flooring companies will not remove baseboards for such an install like this. That is they're going to install a shoe moulding to cover the gaps at edges. However I still don't agree with this cheap method of install. I don't go over flooring that's already installed bc you don't know how well it was installed and if there are any spots in the subfloor that should be repaired first. This is one of the many many reasons contractors have a bad name bc they're all about money money money and leave quality and integrity at the front door.

Why does it seem like the tile looks better to me...plus the slight innacurracies cant be covered by your baseboard unless ur adding a quarter round which would be too much...jmo.

Cut with a straightedge, you might get a better cut and you won't wander off your line.
