Build Gates

You must be more selective. You must be more discriminating. Be picky as to who you choose to work with.

Build gates to your product or service to filter out “poor fits”. How?

Be specific about what you do, who you do it for. This is reflected in the copy you write, and how you price your work.

Determine who your ideal clients are. What criteria do you use to determine if the client is a good fit for you? What rules do you have in place?

I put gates by having resources on my website describing the project stages and the kind of information they need to provide for the creative brief before I can price their work or provide availablity.

If a client is already groaning about the process, they're going to think it's too much work and won't email me.

The process was designed from briefs and processes that worked with people who have been used to commissioning for commercial projects for years. It also means if the client is new but serious, I can turn you into a knowledgeable customer.

I called them filters though haha

This is nothing but truth. Pre-qualifying people with filters “the gates” reference is a big deal to land a big deal. 🙌🏾

This man has a lot of wisdom because he does stuff. He’s not your typical YouTube “expert”.

This is great! I have been a realtor here in Durango for 10 years. One of the biggest things I have learned over time is who not to invest time into! Time is precious!

I put up gates by listing my prices where i can, having minimum pricing, and telling folks I'm not cheap IN THE BEGINNING. "Im not sure you can afford us" is a tagline i sometimes use. (Use judiciously, if you haven't built rapport with the client properly, say9ng this can backfire.) Saves a lot of headaches.

Facts. That’s why I don’t work with companies who sell to the general public anymore. Too many problems.

It's very important to have gates. It's how I seive out poor fits for my firm. We have set of processes that makes clients know immediately we are not cheap and even have many immediately asking if we are affordable as they like our process already

I love I'm seeing these in my feed now and this content needs to be seen by EVERYONE (especially in the US). There is so much entitlement by the customer here that they think they deserve everything. It's not a right to be able to work with a business. It's a privilege.

I love the fact that he looks like a korean fashion model and yet talks like a true leader.

Chris I love you and I recommend explaining more on the "HOW" rather than just what. This was something you did a lot in your earlier videos and this was something that kept us hooked to your goldmine channel!
