- The Nextgen patch will be available for free to all users who own The Witcher III GOTY on PS4, Xbox One or PC on December 14, 2022.
- PS5 and Xbox Series S offer two modes: Ray-Tracing or Performance. Xbox Series S also offers two modes: Quality or Performance.
- Ray-Tracing mode on consoles only applies to global illumination of the sun, moon and fire. Xbox Series S does not have Ray-Tracing. This mode also improves the quality of SSR reflections.
- Xbox Series S has lower settings. Performance mode reduces draw distance, vegetation quality and shadows.
- PC Ray-Tracing shows a palpable difference. It is the only version with Ray-Tracing for global illumination, shadows and reflections.
- On PC, Ray-Tracing has some visual bugs in shadows and reflections. These are expected to be fixed with future patches.
- PS5 has a slightly more noticeable pop-in than the other versions.
- Series X performs better with Ray-Tracing, but PS5 offers better performance in Performance mode.
- PS5 has better loading times.
- In some areas,Series X resolution is higher than PS5 and vice versa, but overall both have a similar average resolution.
- On Xbox Series S I recommend Quality mode, while on PS5 and Xbox Series X I would choose Performance mode.
- Hairworks still marks an advantage on the PC version in terms of the fur on some models. However, this technique does not behave correctly with Ray-Tracing global illumination.

- Nota: Anteriormente indicaba que el minuto 1:12 los reflejos en el modo performance de PS5 presentaban mejores resultados en algunas zonas con respecto a Xbox Series X, pero estaba equivocado. CD Projekt me ha explicado que se debe a que el clima tiene ligeras variaciones y, a pesar de estar ambos juegos con el tiempo despejado, las condiciones ambientales pueden ser diferentes. - Note: I previously stated that at minute 1:12 the reflections in PS5 performance mode showed better results in some areas compared to Xbox Series X, but I was wrong. CD Projekt has explained to me that this is because the weather has slight variations and, despite both games being in clear weather, the environmental conditions can be different. Sorry for the inconvenience.

1188p on PS5/XSX just because RT is so ridiculous, how the fuck are people hyping this update? Game is running at 30fps and nearly 1080p just because RT and it doesn't even improve that much, not even Cyberpunk runs at such a low resolution

The screenspace reflections still look best. Console Raytracing looks like a mirror and PC raytracing looks like mercury. This is just not how big bodies of water look.

It's absolutely insane how the witcher 3 still hold up.
The game was already insane looking without this next gen update now it's just mindblowing.

For a large body of water, the raytracing mode seems very strange, i prefer the performance mode one, and like you show in 10:40, the raytracing mode use screen space not raytrace for the water reflection
but for puddles and small river, the water seems great in raytracing mode

Idk how people are seeing such big differences between series x and ps5. To me they look mostly the same except for color. For console though I would definitely play PS5 in performance mode.

Been a console player my entire life (Minus 5 years in WoW). It's obvious the PC Max setting with a high end GPU cannot be beaten. That goes for any multi format game where the developers actually know what they're doing. However it's very impressive PS5 & Series X can render such assets @ USD $500 versus a $1, 200 GPU. Not to mention the $500 + CPU that GPU also requires to run games.

So play a perfect version of Witcher 3 with a $3, 500 PC, or a version almost as good on a $500 box. That extra 3k you save can buy a nice 4k 120hz TV, SSD Upgrade, and an excellent AAA/Indie Library this generation.

Would be amazing to see games become this scalable. It runs on a Switch and still gives 4080 owners an eye treat.

A versão do Séries S no modo qualidade está bacana! Porém vou jogar no modo 60fps! Além das melhorias do update, está bem melhor que a versão do one S, que rodava antes!! Melhor canal de comparação!!! Parabéns pelo trabalho !!!
