INT. LOCKER ROOM - DAY
Lots of boys are in the locker room (though we can't see Tolkien or Butters) wearing little towels and chattering. Some of the boys are in their PE outfits.
KIDS
(chatter)
A WHISTLE blows and we hear a voice off screen.
PE TEACHER (O.S.)
Alright kids, out on the gym floor for PE class!
When the boys finally clear out of the foreground, we see that Stan is laying on his back on one of the benches between the lockers, wearing just a towel. Just laying there staring at the ceiling.
Kyle walks in, wearing a PE outfit.
KYLE
Come on Stan, we're going to play dodge ball.
STAN
I can't believe it. She's in love with somebody else.
KYLE
Dude, you need to snap out of this! So Wendy left you for Tolkien. What are you going to do just be miserable your whole life?
STAN
There's nothing else I can do. She WAS my whole life.
KYLE
Oh come on, dude! All you've done for the last FOUR days is mope around! You might as well go hang out with those GOTH kids who dress in black and talk about pain all the time!
STAN
Maybe I should. At least THEY would understand me. Maybe I SHOULD go hang with the goth kids.
EXT. SCHOOL - DOCK AREA - DAY
Five GOTH kids are sitting in a row, in the dock area of the school. The first one, has a long strand of hair he needs to flip out his eyes every few seconds with a jerk of his head.
HAIR IN FACE GOTH BOY
Life is pain. Life is only pain.
(flips hair out of eyes)
We're all taught to believe in happy, fairy tale endings -
(flips hair out of eyes)
But there is only blackness. Dark, depressing loneliness that-
(flips hair out of eyes)
Eats at your soul.
PAN OVER to the next Goth kid, a too tall, too skinny ugly kid.
TALL SKINNY GOTH BOY
Who needs that Ken and Barbie love anyway? Everyone's just walking around like a bunch of conformists. Go ahead and wear your business suit so you can make 34 thousand dollars a year and buy your condominium. They're like zombies, racing to their graves. Love didn't work for MY mom and dad, why should it work for me?
PAN OVER to the next Goth kid, a chubby pale chick smoking a cigarette.
CHUBBY PALE GOTH CHICK
My dad is such an asshole. Drunken bastard doesn't even know I exist, but then he won't let me go to the Skinny Puppy concert because my heroin addict aunt is coming over for dinner. Dinner? That's a laugh, just an excuse for my mom to bitch at me for not wearing girly clothes like all the Britney Spears wannabes at this school.
Now we pan to a little Kindergarten age goth kid.
LITTLE GOTH CHILD
They're all a bunch of Nazi conformist cheerleaders.
Now we finally reverse to Stan looks at the little kid a bit incredulously.
STAN
But if life is only pain... Then what's the point of living?
HAIR IN FACE GOTH BOY
(flips hair out of eyes)
Just to make life more miserable for the conformists.
STAN
Alright. So how do I join you?
TALL SKINNY GOTH BOY
If you want to be one of the non-conformists all you have to do is dress just like us and listen to the same music we do.
STAN
Kay.
