The Library Scene is definitely one of my favourite of the play, so sweet!

It was the first scene I actually got teary eyed when he learned the different words and got so excited. A middle aged man managed to capture charm and innocence of an ecstatic young boy and actually made it believable!

Saw it twice, both times I left weeping. Genuinely, one of the most moving pieces of theatre I've seen in my life, especially the ending monologue. Bloody brilliant!

MAGNIFICENT THEATRE. In the past month we have had the EXTREME PLEASURE of experiencing NYE and THE MOTIVE AND THE CUE. We look forward to seeing more of these fine productions My only wish is that THE NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE made these productions available for purchase on DVD & BLU RAY, as I would study and enjoy them over and over.

I've watched this at a NT live cinema screening (went all the way from Goettingen to Hamburg in a 2 hour train journey) and can't stop thinking about it. I hope this won't take too long to be released on NTathome 🥺 I need to watch it again!

My stammer came in when i was about 4 years old and this scene tells nothing but truth about what it is like to live with. But swearing is no problem!

The subtitles aren't quite right. As I recall he's talking about 'see' not 'sea'. (The latter is a less commonly used word)
